How to plant a cedric?

Let everyone living in a large city peel one nut out of a resinous cedar cone, hold it in his mouth, in his saliva, then put it in a small pot in a house and water it every day. Before watering, he will stick his fingers into the water – at this moment you cannot be angry and with bad thoughts. Let himself and, most importantly, him descendants, children, wish all the best, God’s blessing. And so every day.
When the first sprout hatches, you can mentally talk with it about what is sacred and dear to everyone. On a summer day and on a warm night, a pot with a small sprout must be taken out into the street among other plants, so that it talks with the stars, the sun and the moon, so that it comes into contact with the rain, breeze and the spirit of near growing blades of grass, and then let it return at home inside to it’s friends, parents. This procedure can be done many times when there is time and desire. The seedling takes root and grows for centuries, even over 500 years old, gives young seedlings-children and tells them about the kind soul of it’s owner.
After it grows 30 cm long at home, the seedling must be transplanted into the ground in early spring. Let the city authorities and everyone who does not have their own land plot allocate at least one square meter for a seedling. And in the suburbs, on the banks of the river or on the edge of roads, among houses, in the center of squares, cedars will be planted. Let people protect their plantings and help each other. Let them invite guests from other cities and places and tells about new plantings…
There will be not simple seedlings. They will become the Ringing Cedars. Warmed by the warmth of human hearts, touching their soul, they will absorb the best rays of the Universe and begin to give them to people. And in this place, both the earth and the people will forever shine. A new awareness will come, new discoveries that will spread throughout the entire Earth!

Here is an inspiring story about how a cedar seed is chosen and planted in Latvia. As soon as I found out about the possibility of growing cedar in our country, there was a desire to somehow acquire seeds. In a casual conversation with a colleague, I had known that he have such. So the seeds themselves came to me. The first experience was both joyful and sad. From 9 seeds only one grew. Grown it near the window in a pot. Watered well. Cedric grew, grew, until a strong root pulled itself out of the ground, and it died. Gave a bag of seeds to mom. She really enjoys engaging in the backyard garden. For several years now, small, needle-like cedrics have been growing in her flower bed. Looks great!
Having learned from his own experience and the experience of others, in this autumn I planted cedar seeds in my forest. Just stuck a couple of seeds with my finger and closed it. In my opinion, the approach to this process is as simple as to growing potatoes, without getting too carried away, then the growth happens naturally. Of course, you need to follow the general rules – which land is the most suitable, you need to cover a little, protecting it from severe frost and forest animals. It should also be remembered that the cedars are very long and a forest is needed around them, which will protect the cedar from the wind and, as it were, support it.

Here are some tips from other people’s experiences:
“If you want cedar seeds to germinate, firstly, they must be fresh, the ability to germinate decreases over the years… Secondly, for the seeds to go through the stratification process (without which they do not germinate) – that is, they need cold – either by planting a cedric in the soil in the autumn, so that it will survive the winter and rise in the spring. You can also keep the cedar seeds for about 3 months in the soil substrate by placing them in the refrigerator and then sowing them in a pot in the room. Another very important point is that unhatched seeds should not be over-watered, otherwise they will rot. The soil can be selected in this way – half sand mixed with black soil.”
“Plant if there are seeds and wait. I have been waiting for Siberian cedar for 10 months.”
“From about 200 nuts I managed to grow 7 cedar – this has been beautiful for 6 years now, young trees are gradually stretching out.”
“Now I have 6 cedrics left – in the summer I keep them outside in pots. In winter, perhaps, I will cover them with branches of a Christmas tree… They would have sprouted 10 times more if they had not been stuck so deep into the ground. Never mind, next year there will be a record harvest!”
“This winter I was also given another cedar seed. Some of them, according to all the instructions, I put in a plastic box, in a sandy-peat substrate, and placed in the refrigerator. This time, the only thing I missed the etching procedure was that I really didn’t want to do it, and I didn’t believe that anything would come of it…
About a month ago, there was not enough space in the refrigerator for food, and someone just stuck a box out of there. Of course, out of my laziness, I no longer wanted to think about these seeds, and so they stood near the refrigerator right up to this day.
In the morning I accidentally looked at this box in a corner near the refrigerator and saw many small sprouts of cedar with the first needles!!! The surprise was huge. In addition, the little cedar trees look so cute (before I noticed them only in photographs and in an ex ecovillage “Dziesmas” in the Kraslava region)…
And I again believed that it should to be sow these small, capricious seedlings!”
“Many sprouts have sprouted in me, too, but I made a mistake – being overly concerned, I watered a lot and a few roots rotted, but still now 5 cedars are holding tightly – each in its own pot. Anastasia, in the books of author V. Megre, says that before watering the cedars, you need to hold your fingertips in the water, thinking about good, bright… And so every day.”
